The Power of Product Reviews
BySome smart affiliate marketers figured out that many people who buy products look for reviews of the product before they buy. So they often set up product review sites where customers can compare products and where each product has an affiliate link somewhere on the website.
The sad truth is that many review sites are not legitimate, but just an attempt to sell the product. And suprisingly many of the reviewers have never even seen the product (because they would often have to buy the product or don’t have the expertise to judge the product).
I prefer a more honest approach. I have a large following of guitarists who trust me as a guitar teacher. That is why I recently requested a copy of the Learn and Master Guitar DVD Course from the owners so that I could evaluate it. I received the product by mail and watched the DVDs, and checked out the accompanying book. Once I felt comfortable that the material was of high quality and useful, I decided it was ethical to promote it to my students.
Here’s an example affiliate video I did discussing the Learn and Master Guitar DVD Course. I did a bit of guitar playing to hopefully inspire and show I can play, then discussed the course in detail. I also provided an affiliate link in the description of the video. I’m happy to report I made my first sale the first day after uploading the video (in the wee hours while I was sleeping which is even sweeter!).
